The liner is a copy of German WWI helmet liner with a leather ring. Most were made by Talousvarikko central depot, some by cloth-repairing depots. Leather parts were cut and suplied by nahkaleikkaamo army workshop in Hämeenlinna. Leather material was of calf or lamb, mostly cut out of left-over parts, and ripped army rags were used as stuffing in the pads. This liner type was replaced by the Finnish-made so-called m/55 liner.
